Visit Us
Meeting with an attorney for the first time can be unsettling and stressful. Our staff is committed to putting you at ease by handling your case with the utmost care and discretion.
In order to make the most of your time, there are a few things you may want to consider doing before your visit:
Get organized
In any legal matter, it is helpful to have all of your documentation together and organized. It is also a good idea to sit down and make a timeline of events related to your case. The more accurate information you are able to provide, the more quickly we will be able to evaluate your situation.
Prepare a list of questions
Before your appointment, assemble a list of questions regarding your case. Please keep in mind that we may not be able to answer all of your questions during the first visit and many answers will be based on the information you provide. It is our job to explain your rights and interest, so we value all questions or concerns you may have.
Be Honest
Please be prepared to be completely open and honest about your situation. Any information you share is confidential and all important facts should be shared, even if you think it may not be good for your case. This is imperative for our office to be able to provide a reliable assessment of your circumstances.
Review your finances
This is critical in most family law cases, particularly in a divorce. Please be familiar with the status of all of your accounts, expenses and assets. It would be beneficial to have a copy of financial documentation with you.
Bring any paperwork with you
If you have already been served, please bring a copy of the notice to your appointment. If there is any other paperwork that you believe may be relevant to your case, please bring that as well.
